Lady in the Dark

A little more than a year ago, I wrote about Daw Aung San Suu Kyi that "sometimes it's useful to be reminded that glamor comes in many forms, and that gallantry and courage exist outside old movies. It's a fouled-up world all right, but as long as there are outraged souls who won't back down, we've got a rope to cling to."

Some days it's harder than others to believe that, but I think if we're not to go mad, believe we must.

This beautiful print by Obama-iconist Shepard Fairey is available here. Its sale benefits two leading organizations working for change in Burma.
