Goodnight, Schatze...

I hate weeks when I have to quote Shakespeare more than once:
Now boast thee, death, in thy possession lies
A lass unparallel'd...
I won't lie to you, kids - this one hurts.

  1. Well she had a good, long, amazing life but still it's tough to see the legends go. She left a lot of great work behind. I think I'll go watch my favorite of her films, Woman's World, in tribute.

  3. The light around here is a darned sight dimmer today. The stars are shining much brighter in the heavens today.

In addition to a grand career on screen and stage, she managed to raise three children who all appear to have grown up quite well - no mean feat for any parent and admirable while contending with the glare of stardom.

Who's left? Olivia. Maureen O'Hara. Doris Day. Kirk Douglas. The indestructible Luise R. Damn few.
